Description
☆☆☆Engaging, student-centered, and make for the middle school mind!☆☆☆
Within this unit, students will examine the lives of enslaved people through a stations activity and make connections through a cooperative hexagonal activity about those who resisted the institution of slavery. They will complete several map activities that look at the effectiveness of compromise and they will also watch a compelling documentary called “The Abolitionists.” Students will assess the actions of John Brown and draw political cartoons to determine if he was a murderer or a martyr. Finally, they will be assessed through an exam that builds on their historical thinking skills to determine their knowledge of the content.
