With this lesson, students will learn all about new inventions, technologies, and the transformation of rural life that occurred during the Market Revolution.

Centering this conversation around the Market Revolution makes this experience much more meaningful for students as they can then see how dramatically changed this experience was for the people of New England and the Midwest. They will also immerse themselves in history by performing a mini-skit about one of the first strikes in U.S. History – a strike of the Lowell girls.
